THE MEDICAL SPECIALISTS OF NATIONAL TRAUMATOLOGY AND ORTHOPEDICS RESEARCH CENTER INTRODUCED THE FUNCTIONS OF THE 111TH UNIT OF AERIAL SEARCH AND RESCUE OPERATIONS...

The National Traumatology and orthopedics research center and the 111th Air Search and Rescue Unit of NEMA cooperated to provide emergency assistance to injured citizens in the local area, to transport them to referral health facilities by helicopter, and to train doctors and nurses at the workplace and organizing multifaceted activities. In this context, the team of the rescue team led by the commander of the 111th Air Search and Rescue Unit, Colonel T. Munkhdorj, met with the director of the National Traumatology and Orthopedics Research center E. Galbadrach and representatives of medical experts yesterday and gave a presentation of the operation. The unit built three fully equipped special duty helicopters of the Airbus ES-145 model, a small Cabri G-2 simulator for pilot training and a hangar to house them. It is a team with important activities, which consists of a specialized team under constant training and practice, and works 24 hours a day to save the lives and health of citizens in the event of a disaster. The search and rescue unit, which has been cooperating with the National Medical Center since 2019, has four doctors and nurses each, and their knowledge and skills are always improved by training and practicing in the emergency department and intensive care unit of the center for a certain period of time, and conducting joint examination and diagnosis and surgical treatment. Through the meeting, the leaders of both sides discussed the process of transporting patients from the locality, the access to the outside area of the referral health institution, and the problems in terms of helicopter parking, based on the actual situation, and exchanged opinions on possible ways to solve them. For example, in the event of a disaster, we discussed the standard area of the airport for transporting critical patients from the local area, landing and take-off, as well as the problems of the construction near the hospital, which could completely block the air flow and make it impossible for the helicopter to land. Also, within the framework of this meeting, the medical experts of the National Medical Center were interested in the demonstration training of transporting patients during the Air Search and Rescue operation, participated in a pilot training simulator or practice training, and increased their knowledge and experience about the integrated qualities of emergency care and operations for citizens in the event of an accident.
